Zoe and Sam’s summer wedding at the Woodstock Inn was a celebration of contrasts — joyful, garden-inspired florals alongside sleek, minimalist touches. Think juicy pinks and bold textures at the ceremony, paired with sculptural white calla lilies for the bouquet and boutonniere. It was thoughtful, intentional, and filled with heart — and I’m so glad the weather held out so they could enjoy the outdoor ceremony they had dreamed of.
Like many of our spring and summer couples this year, Zoe had her heart set on an outdoor ceremony at the Paul Barn, but the forecast called for steady rain all week. We waited it out. The clouds cleared. And the sun stayed out all day for this sweet, kind couple. It was literally the perfect summer day, and we can’t think of a more deserving couple!
We designed a lush floral arbor in a palette of vibrant pink, cranberry, tangerine, and golden yellow, with lots of fresh, trailing greenery for movement and softness. Entrance florals framed the aisle, creating a warm welcome that set the tone from the very first step.
The florals were filled with texture and life — Antonia and Pink Floyd garden roses, locally-sourced peonies, delicate godetia, foxglove, ranunculus, bupleurum, and more. The result felt joyful and abundant — a little wild, a little refined, and entirely summer.
Zoe and Sam’s vision was brought to life in collaboration with the incredible team at Something Bleu (planning), with the day beautifully captured by Cole and Kiera Photography and Video New England (videography).
In contrast to the color-forward ceremony, Zoe carried a simple, sculptural bouquet of white calla lilies. It was modern and refined, a quiet moment of calm against the backdrop of saturated blooms. Sam wore a matching boutonniere — one crisp calla bloom and nothing more.
I love when couples play with contrast, and this pairing of lush maximalism with modern minimalism couldn’t have been more perfect.
Zoe looked stunning in her Kyha Studios gown from Kyha Bride, and Sam wore a classically striking Suit Supply tux. Hair and makeup were handled by the talented team at Hillary Fay Studios, keeping the look polished yet effortless.
For the reception, we softened the sailcloth tent from Undercover Tents with trailing greenery on the poles and filled the space with the warm glow of white candles in glass holders. The effect was romantic and timeless — relaxed but elevated, with just the right balance of structure and softness.
The team at The Woodstock Inn not only hosted the celebration but provided the catering and the cake — adding to the seamless experience for guests. Paper goods by Serif and Sans Designs added a chic, minimal touch throughout the day, while the dance floor came alive thanks to Night Shift Entertainment, who kept the party going long after the sun had set.
As the candles flickered to life and music filled the tent, the entire day felt like a celebration of summer — full of color, light, and love.
Zoe and Sam’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful moments come from contrast: bold and minimal, planned and unexpected, stormy skies and sudden sun. It was a joy to flower for them — and an even greater joy to see everything come together, exactly as it was meant to.
